Mercedes-Benz have inaugurated India’s largest parts warehouse by a luxury car manufacturer and South-Asia’s largest training academy.
The parts warehouse, the Mercedes-Benz Academy and the Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC) are three key infrastructural additions in-line with Mercedes-Benz’s future growth plan in India.
The Parts warehouse which is spread over 16,500 sq mt will have a storage capacity of 44,000 parts which will improve operational efficiency and enhance spare-part availability for customers. Systems in the warehouse are designed considering future requirements (with efforts towards paperless warehouse operations). There is also a provision for Wi-Fi throughout the warehouse. It is also equipped with LED lighting for energy saving, as well as motion sensors.
Mercedes-Benz India have also inaugurated their largest training facility in South-Asia, christened the Mercedes-Benz Academy. The academy trains 225 participants per day. It also hosts classrooms, an aggregate room, and an eLab.
The Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC) was created to cater to the storing requirements of Mercedes-Benz and aid the company’s vision to deliver ‘Zero Defect Customized Vehicles with
Customer Delight’.
At VPC the vehicles are stored, maintained and prepared before the vehicles are dispatched to the showrooms. All vehicles are subject to stringent checks, various audits and periodic maintenance.
