Maruti-Suzuki have introduced an exciting upmarket variant of the WagonR hatchback. Called the ‘Stingray’, it brings a slew of styling changes and premium features which make it a very credible prospect for those looking at getting an up-to-date hatchback.
It has been launched in three variants: LXi, VXi and a VXi with an Option Pack
The new car features an aggressive front-end with a chrome grille and segment-first projector headlamps. The exterior also features sharp side skirts, a blacked-out B-pillar and a rear spoiler. You also get some truly attractive alloy wheels, finished in gunmetal grey. Chrome is abound and the rear gets an extra dose, with tail lamp garnishes and a strip with ‘Stingray’ boldly embossed.
On the inside, the Stingray theme extends to the premium black upholstery and seats. You have a blue-theme instrument console and chrome garnishes around. The entertainment system includes backlit controls and brings in USB and Aux-in connectivity. The steering wheel is tilt adjustable while VXi Option variant also receives steering-mounted audio controls. Power comes from the K-series 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine with 68 PS and 90 Nm of torque. Maruti-Suzuki promises an efficiency figure of 20.51 km/l.
The new WagonR Stingray will be available across Maruti-Suzuki’s extensive dealer network. It is also available in a new shade called Midnight Blue. The LXi variant has been priced at Rs 4.1 lakh, the VXi at Rs 4.38 lakh and the VXi Option at Rs 4.67 lakh, all ex-showroom, Delhi.
