New Jaguar XFR-S to debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed on March 20
The new Jaguar XFR-S will make its global debut at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed on March 20, 2013. Andy Wallace, the 1988 LeMans 24hr race winner, will drive an Italian Racing Red color prototype in the presence of a media audience. The car is claimed to be Jaguar’s fastest sports saloon. It uses a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine with increased maximum power and torque figures of 550PS (up by 40PS) and 680Nm (up by 55Nm), yet maintaining the same fuel consumption and CO2 emission figures as the previous car. The car can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 4.6 seconds and goes on to an electronically-limited top speed of 300 kph.
The new XFR-S was first shown in November 2012 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and will be accompanied at the Goodwood Festival by other iconic Jaguar sportscars including a 1962 Jaguar Mk. II prepared by Jaguar Heritage Racing and a 1954 ‘short nose’ Jaguar D-Type development prototype (chassis No.1). The car is now on sale in the UK at a price of INR 65.8 lakhs (£79,995).
