Lamborghini chose the Frankfurt International Auto Show to introduce their latest creation – the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder.
Lamborghini have never been known to have anything less than utterly spectacular in their portfolio and their latest V10 offering, which just happens to be the smaller of their two model lines that usually makes up their entire list of offerings, is the Huracán Spyder. The drop-top version of the Gallardo-replacing Huracán coupé.
Like the Huracán fixed-head coupé, the Spyder is offered with the LP 610-4 driveline, making it much quicker than the Gallardo Spyder. With the hybrid chassis comprised mostly of aluminium, with carbon-fibre components largely used for the passenger cell, the Huracán Spyder tips the scales at just 1,542 kg (dry). Factor in the 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque and that’s 395 PS/tonne, enough for a claimed 0-100 km/h sprint time of 3.4 seconds and a 324 km/h top speed. Even the top is quick to hide at just 17 seconds, convertible at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said, “The Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder is the next chapter in the success story of the naturally aspirated V10 Huracán, and continues a Lamborghini tradition of open air motoring. The Huracán Spyder combines the innovation, performance and appeal of the Huracán coupé, with new technologies and an added emotional dimension. Its predecessor, the Gallardo Spyder, was the best-selling open top model in Lamborghini’s history: we expect the Huracán Spyder to exceed its predecessor in every way.”
Expect to see the Spyder in India soon after the global roll-out in the range of Rs 4 crore.
