Hyundai Motors India Ltd. (HMIL) announced the success of their premium hatchback, the Elite i20. The company has sold over 1,50,000 vehicles since its launch in March 2014. In the fifteen months since its launch, the Elite i20 managed to bag 66 percent market share in the premium compact hatchback segment in India.
Commenting on the strong sales performance, Rakesh Srivastava, Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, HMIL said, “We are overwhelmed with the customer’s response by receiving unprecedented 1,50,000 domestic sales for the Elite i20. Hyundai also announced their achievement of four million vehicles sold in the Indian market. The Hyundai journey began 19 years ago with the launch of the Santro and since then the company has never looked back.
