Our drive takes a bit of a halt here and you catch the follow-up to this story in the next issue, where we visit the exciting city of Bengaluru before wrapping things up in the Hyundai’s hometown and the birthplace of this Venue, Chennai.
Speaking of the Venue, so far it has proved its mettle on this Great India Drive journey. Its compact dimensions helped in cramped city streets and its in-built tech was a perfect companion for a journey to IT destinations across the country. Using voice commands almost becomes second nature once you get used to it and makes for a much more liberating and focused driving experience as you no longer have to keep glancing down towards the infotainment or reaching out blindly towards buttons and controls. Cruise control is such a boon on a drive like this as well. You just switch it on when you’re on an extended highway run, as I often found myself on along this drive, and the Venue does the rest. It ensures that you stay within the prescribed speed limit while your feet can enjoy a bit of downtime as you drive along. Power-packed, tech-loaded, and fun to drive, the Venue has been putting its best foot forward so far. Part two should be just as exciting.
