Ford India previewed its new ‘urban’ SUV EcoSport at the launch of the EcoSport Urban Hub and Urban Discoveries Campaign today at Delhi.
The EcoSport Urban Hub includes a modular interactive zone with a 3-D Ecoboost engine holocube (a revolving, projected display of the engine), and a SYNC simulator allowing customers to experience an engaging driving game and music selector. The Urban Hub at Delhi is part of the 12-city EcoSport Urban Discoveries roadshow, with the first two cities being Delhi and Mumbai. The event will be held at popular malls in Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Kochi, Ludhiana, Chennai, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune and Kolkata. Customers at these venues can touch and feel the EcoSport and share their feedback and suggestions for the same.
Ford India plans to follow up the roadshow with a shortlisting of 100 selected consumers, who will be taken on an ‘experiential’ drive in May 2013, where they will drive the EcoSport in different parts of the country and provide their inputs to the company. These will be used to incorporate any additional changes/features in the EcoSport leading up to its launch. Ford India announced that the EcoSport would be available in four trims and with three engines – a 1.0 litre petrol EcoBoost engine with 126.7 PS, a 1.5 litre petrol TiVCT (Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing) engine with an optional automatic transmission, and a 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engine. An interesting feature of the car’s interior is the SYNC system (co-developed with Microsoft), a voice-enabled interactive system allowing the driver to select music as well as other functions.
The company did not disclose further engine specifications or the pricing for the EcoSport, and said that these would be revealed in the course of the campaign. You can also get a chance to win a brand new Ford Ecosport, just by clicking on the link – http://ecosportdiscoveries.co.in/
