This one is based on the CX-16 concept
There Was a time when Jaguar were well-known for their affordable sportscars that were not only good, but also technically ahead of their times.
however, the company slowly steered away from building sporty coupés to luxury sedans and it has been quite some time now since we heard of a true-blue Jaguar sportscar. recently, at the new york international auto Show, Jaguar finally announced the F-type, which is based on the cX-16 concept car.
Jaguar recently released these pictures that look like spy shots with a banner on the door, reading ‘search F-type’, to add a little fun. anyway, the F-type retains the gorgeous styling of the cX-16 concept and it will also retain specific technical details from the concept too, such as the sporty V6 powerplant and the eight-speed auto box, which might feature a stick to shift instead of the dial currently flaunted by present-day Jags. Jaguar might also introduce a six-speed manual along with the auto box.
Initially, only petrol models with a convertible roof will be launched followed by a coupé. the F-type will be unveiled officially at the Paris Motor show in september 2012 and the speculated price is rs 44.6 lakh (in the UK). Global sales are expected to begin by mid-2013.
