General Motors India have launched a much-awaited diesel version of the Chevrolet Beat.
The all-new Beat Diesel sports the 1.0 XSDE SMARTECH engine developed specifically for India by the GM Technical Centre in Bengaluru in collaboration with GM Power-train Europe. The three-cylinder DOHC engine features common rail fuel injection technology and produces 62.5 PS of peak power and 160.3 Nm of torque. This diesel hatch is priced between Rs 4.5 lakh and 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
