Although Renault have not confirmed the news, some dealers in various cities are accepting bookings for the compact hatchback
With multiple car launches slated for the upcoming festive season, Renault have also decided to launch the KWID compact hatch sometime in September. Yes, the SUV mimicking KWID will hit the dealerships next month and bookings are already open for the same. Dealers in some cities have started taking bookings for the KWID for an amount of Rs 50,000. However, there is no word from Renault India about this happening.
The KWID is Renault’s first small hatchback in India however, the design of this compact car suggests otherwise. Anyway, we expect Renault to price the KWID somewhere between Rs 3 – 4 Lakh.
The KWID will be available with an 800cc petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Reports also suggest that a larger 1.0-litre petrol engine is also on the cards and it will most probably be available with AMT or Automated Manual Transmission. Watch this space for more.
