BMW India have unleashed the M-powered Gran Coupé in the country.
The four-door extreme sports-luxury coupé marks the entry of the Bavarian giant in the highly exclusive segment, which consists of the Mercedes CLS63 AMG and the recently launched Audi RS7. In terms of get up and go, they are all in the same park in terms of features, luxury, customisation and absolute power.
The 6 Gran Coupé on its own is a beautiful car and both the petrol and diesel motors put out massive power and torque. Once the M Division was done with it however, the 4.4-litre TwinPower Turbo motor with 450 PS in the 650i gets another twin-scroll turbo for even more boost. Output figures are the same as the M5 and M6, at 560 PS and 680 Nm, but the added length mean that the Gran Coupé munches miles while offering even more luxury from the five-metre-plus super tourer. Plus, there’s the Active M Differential and that sweet seven-speed M dual-clutch automatic transmission giving you the means to power-slide and light up that rear end.
The M6 Gran Coupé is being imported as a completely built-up (CBU) unit and thus the price is rather steep. The high-performance four-door sports coupé is available from Rs 1.75 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available at a BMW showroom near you.
