The new M is out of the Bavarian bag! Official pictures of the M4 Coupé Concept reveal for the world what the all new two-door, rechristened 3 Series will look like after receiving the M Division treatment.
The all-new 4 Series replaces the 3 Series two-door versions – Coupé and Convertible – worldwide and fits nicely into BMW’s planned model-range expansion. The 4 Series will be the sportier model now and the new M4 will also sport the same engine from the upcoming M3; rumoured to be a 3.0-litre straight-six with twin-turbocharging and direct injection with an output in the region of 450 PS. It will also be lightweight, expected to sport more carbon-fibre and CFRP components. The roof is also expected to be made from carbon-fibre.
The new design retains the family look while bringing in sportier lines which emphasise its dynamic character with more than a hint of aggression. The new M3 and M4 will be revealed later this year and will go on sale thereafter. India will receive both the new M3 as well as the 4 Series line-up, including the M4 soon after their respective international debuts. The M4 Coupé is expected to start from £58,000 (Rs 55 lakh) in the UK.
