All is set to be right in Bavaria again as BMW is close to revealing the all-new M3 shortly.
The unveiling is rumoured to take place at Pebble Beach in California.
The new M3 will do away with the old 4.0-litre V8 engine and make room for something more efficient and yet traditional – a straight-six – albeit with twin-turbos. The new engine, believed to be badged the S55 and displace 3.0 litres, will make around 450 PS and offer a hefty dose of torque as well. With the 3 Series saloon and coupé/convertible models getting a split as the 3- and 4 Series respectively, the upcoming M3 and, some time later, the M4 Coupé and Convertible will be powered by this new powerplant.
