Audi have prepared their most powerful TT yet, the Clubsport Turbo, with a 600-PS electric bi-turbo powerplant, for Worthesee.

The new TT may have only just arrived but Audi are already experimenting with newer engine technology, which, of course, gives more power. After the TT420, with the 420-PS 2.0-litre TFSI (which we’ve driven earlier), it was time for some more. The electric bi-turbo tech was first seen on the RS5 TDI where their 3.0-litre V6 TDI diesel delivered almost as much as their 4.2-litre V8 TDI – 385 PS and 750 Nm.

The heart of the TT Clubsport Turbo is a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder motor with the electric bi-turbo setup, powered by the 48V electrical system, delivering 600 PS. What’s more astounding is the peak torque figure of 650 Nm delivered between 3,000 and 7,000 RPM. Enthusiast sirens off? If not, they’re about to go! The TT Clubsport Turbo uses a six-speed manual transmission and, you guessed it, quattro all-wheel-drive. Furthermore, it only weighs 1,396 kg. That’s 430 PS/tonne and a claimed 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds and 310 km/h top speed. There’s also a manually-adjustable CFRP (carbon-fibre reinforced polymer)  rear wing, and the start button is on the steering wheel. Wicked!
