The British car maker, who celebrated a century of making cars known for their speed and stunning looks, has recently unveiled the 2015 V12 Vantage S Roadster.
If you’re looking for a fast, brutal dash to 320 km/h and don’t particularly care about your haircut, this is the perfect convertible for you. Aston claim that this is the fastest and most powerful production convertible that they have made. This claim is easily backed up by the massive 6.0-litre V12 that spits out 572 PS and 620 Nm of torque. Impressive, as the only Astons faster are the limited run One-77 and the Roadsters’ hard-top sibling. The Roadster has a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds, which is not slow by any definition.
Like its hard-top counterpart, the Roadster will come with a three-mode Active Damping System (Normal, Sport and Track) which allows you to tweak the suspension, steering and throttle response as per your driving conditions. Like the Astons of old, the power is sent to the rear wheels. A seven-speed automatic gearbox takes care of the transmission of power from the engine to the wheels.
The Roadster isn’t all about speed. Take a step back and feast your eyes on the gorgeous styling of this beauty. The design is very similar to the coupe. The floating front grille, and the long, aggressive vents on the hood being the first to draw your attention and reminding you of the hard top Vantage. If you’re unhappy with the way your car looks there is an option personalise your Roadster with a variety of add-ons. The fellows over at Gaydon, Warwickshire haven’t revealed how much the Roadster will cost, but you can be sure it will be a hefty addition to the $184,995 (Rs 1.11 crore approx) base price of the 2014 V12 Vantage S.
