Verdict
Both these cars balance out their good and bad points and, honestly, both are almost on a par with each other. The Elite i20 is a capable hatchback that has proved its mettle by winning the Indian Car of the Year Award. The Jazz, on the other hand, was always a good car and now it is available with a diesel engine as well, making it even more desirable. However, issues like the engine clatter and refinement still need some sorting out. Where features are concerned, both the cars are comparable but the Hyundai Elite i20 clearly wins the race when it comes to aesthetics and interior.
It is a tough choice. If you are willing to overlook the Honda’s flaws and want a driver’s car, then the Jazz is a perfect option for you. If looks, features and ride quality are your priority, then the Hyundai Elite i20 makes more sense for you. As for me, I would like to stick to the Honda because it offers a few more features, better driveability, handling and stability. Moreover, it is fun to drive in the city and those occasional twisty mountain roads.
