Aditya_Audi_1_webAudi, the German luxury car manufacturer, today announced that Audi India race talent and class winner of the 24 hours of the Nürburgring, Aditya Patel, will compete in the ADAC GT Masters 2013 in Europe

after a successful test at the Oschersleben track in Germany. He will be representing MS RACING, the reigning champion’s team, and will drive the highly successful Audi R8 LMS ultra, which is also the 100th customer racing car ever produced by quattro GmbH. His team-mate will be last year’s MS RACING driver Daniel Dobitsch.

Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India stated, “Racing in a GT3 championship is a step-up in Aditya’s development from last year, when he became the first Indian to win the 24hrs of Nürburgring in an Audi TTS. The ADAC GT Masters offers a high level of competitiveness and will equip Aditya with the right kind of experience to further his career. Team MS RACING with Aditya and the Audi R8 LMS ultra are a winning combination. At Audi India, we believe in nurturing young talent, and we hope to continue developing race talents like Aditya in future as well.”

With the opportunity to compete in the GT3, an elated Aditya Patel said, “I am very happy to continue my association with Audi India. After last year’s success, it is great to race in a GT3 championship with a highly experienced team. The Audi R8 LMS ultra is a specimen of superlative automotive technology. It is powerful, has fantastic balance, is extremely stable around the corners and drives like none other on the track. Team principal of MS RACING, Harald Böttner, said, “We are really happy to have Aditya in our team. The first test at Oschersleben with Aditya shows that he is a committed young driver with a lot of potential. We are looking forward to the coming season.”

The ADAC GT Masters comprises 16 thrilling races over 8 race weekends with various drivers from different parts of the world competing for top honours. The season begins at the Motorsport Arena Oscherleben from April 26th and ends at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Württemberg on September 29th.

Aditya Patel’s motorsport career began at an early age with the JK Tyre National Racing Championship in 2001 when he was 14. Consistent performances and dedicated support saw him rise through the ranks and later into more advanced formats, before he was contracted by Audi India in 2012. Besides being a race talent for Audi India, he is also the lead instructor with the highly successful Audi sportscar experience, sharing his expertise and knowledge with Audi customers and sportscar enthusiasts in the country.

Audi India, JK Tyre, Audi Top Service, MAS Holdings and Amante have been fully involved in Aditya Patel’s development and are working jointly working towards furthering his career.
