The second-generation Audi R8 to be shown in Geneva will be even quicker than before.
The 85th Geneva Motor Show is around the corner and Audi will have, among other creations, the new R8. The new car brings in several visual differences, which may make it faster and more slippery, but also flatter and wider, inviting different opinions on its design. However, the big news is that for the first time, the R8 will have a V10 engine option on par with the one in its cousin the Lamborghini Huracán.
The R8 V10 will sport the 5.2-litre FSI V10 with 540 PS and 540 Nm of torque paired to quattro all-wheel drive. The V10 plus, however, gets the motor with 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque. Together with quattro, this will make the R8 quicker off the line, with a 0-100 km/h dash of just 3.2 seconds, as well as much faster at the top end, with a top whack of 330 km/h. The new car is also much lighter at 1,454 kg dry. A V8 model is not on the cards as yet.
All will be revealed in Geneva, and the new R8 sports car will be introduced in India soon after its global launch.
