Honda showcased a prototype of what was to become the 2015 CR-V at the Paris Motor Show this past October. The company has now introduced the production version of the CR-V in the European market and it is evident that the exteriors have been retained from the prototype. Not only is the new exterior more sporty and aggressive, but also uses a revised front grille flanked by new headlamps. Changes extend toward the rear in the form of new LED combination lamps.

The interiors have been upgraded with chrome-effect inlay running across the dashboard and a sliding armrest also finds its way between the front seats. In terms of infotainment, the car features the new ‘Honda Connect’ which offers fast access to vehicle information, rear-view parking camera, Bluetooth and music via the 7-inch display.

The changes to the CR-V are more than skin deep and the 2015 model is available with a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine producing either 120 or 160 PS, as well as a 155-PS 2.0-litre i-VTEC petrol. The 160-PS diesel is available with a new nine-speed automatic, while the 120-PS diesel will sport a six-speed manual. Meanwhile, the 155-PS 2.0 i-VTEC petrol is now Euro 6 compliant.

Following its European launch the 2015 CR-V should come to Indian shores soon. The possibility of a tuned-up, 120-PS version of the existing 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel seen in the Amaze, City, and Mobilio is more likely when the CR-V arrives here.
