While the 2015 Ford Mustang has still a ways to go before it’s seen in dealerships, all the aftermarket tuning companies have their eyes set steadily on the development of specially tuned versions of the car.
This is proved by the official image of the Saleen 302 Mustang released by Saleen.
The image is a head-on shot, which unfortunately does not reveal much about the car. It does, however, reveal just enough that we’re waiting with bated breath to see just what Saleen does to the car. Even at a glance it is obvious that the new car bears all the trademark Saleen characteristics: the blacked out grille, the huge hood scoop and the unique fins in the lower fascia. It will be interesting to see how Saleen changes the looks of the already aggressive looking 2015 Mustang.
It has been confirmed that 302 will have a 5.0 litre V8 (that’s 302 cubic inches, which is where the car get its name from). Although the engine capacity is known, the specifics regarding power and torque figures are as yet unknown, leaving room for heavy speculation by enthusiasts. The current avatar, the 2014 Saleen 302 Mustang comes in two offerings: one with a naturally aspirated V8 that is capable of 440 PS and a one with a supercharged V8 that gives 625 PS.
The prices should more or less remain unchanged, beginning at $39,095 ( Rs 23.5 lakh approx) which does not include the price of the donor car. There is no official time-line as to when the car may be launched, but it a safe bet to assume it will be next year’s Detroit Auto Show.
