Audi have revealed the 2013 iteration of their flagship sports car, the Audi R8 in India.
This high performance sports car from the Audi stable has been one of the most important products for the Ingolstadt-based car maker. In an event at the nation’s capital the luxury car manufacturer unveiled the 2013 R8 line-up which included an all new V8 S tronic edition along with the V10 coupe & Spyder edition. The new Audi R8 V8 delivers 436 PS and 430 Nm of torque between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. And it’s all new state-of-the-art seven-speed S tronic transmission propels the R8 Coupé from 0-100 in 4.3 seconds, with a top speed figure of 300 km/h. The Audi R8 V10 Coupé with S tronic does 0-100 in 3.6 seconds and boasts a top speed of 314 km/h while delivering 532 PS. While the R8 V10 Spyder sprints in 3.8 seconds with a top speed of 311 km/h.
Speaking to the media, Michael Perschke, head, Audi India said“Our outstanding performance in 2012 established Audi as the fastest growing luxury car brand in India and this successful run will continue this year too. 2013 is a critical year for Audi in India and we will see the announcement of several initiatives on the product and network front. First month of 2013 already saw the launch of new Audi Q5 and I am confident that with the launch of this new Audi R8 we will further consolidate our leadership position in the super sports car segment in India”.
Also present at the launch of the 2013 R8 along with Mr. Michael Perschke were actors Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Ameesha Patel who had come to promote their new film Race 2, and unveiled the 2013 R8 lineup.
