Home / Home / 2.03 lakh Nanos booked

Weeks to go before TATA introduces JLR models in India.

So far, two lakh Nanos have been booked with 90 percent of their amount paid. But until their Sanand plant is up and running, TATA will be able to manufacture only around 50,000 units per year for the first two years. Hence only one in two people who have booked the Nano will actually be driving home in one. A whopping 70 percent of the bookings were financed whereas the rest were fully paid in cash – 20 percent bookings are for the base model, 30 percent for the Nano CX and 50 percent for LX version. Since its launch, the Nano website has clocked a million hits per day and about 4000 cash bookings were made online. The deliveries are expected to start from next month.
TATA will also be catering to buyers at the other end of the spectrum with the Jaguar and Land Rover brands. The first company showroom will be opening shortly at Ceejay House in Worli, Mumbai. The first models to arrive into the country will be the XF saloon and the XK coupe from Jaguar and the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport SUVs from the Land Rover stable.
