Evolution and adapting to current times is the secret of staying in the game. Last year German car manufacturers Volkswagen introduced the new Indian-made 1.5-litre, TDI engine, replacing the 1.6-litre TDI motor of the Vento, along with a few tweaks to the car’s styling. The car itself has been around long enough and with customer feedback and inputs from the company’s research, Volkswagen decided it was the Vento got a new look, and why not? After all, looks do matter.
The Vento has always been a good-looking car, but what makes it look even better are the changes to the front and rear of the car, along with a few tweaks to the interior as well. The front now features a re-profiled bonnet with deeper creases, adding a muscular look. The car’s face also sports a new grille with triple chrome slats, restyled air-dams and new fog-lamps with integrated cornering lights. New chrome strips find their place on the door-handles, and the wing mirrors sport integrated LED turn indicators. The rear features stylish new lamps and a new bumper with chrome inserts and safety reflectors. The other added features include a soft-touch release for the boot-lid (an addition to the standard driver’s side boot release button), and a chrome strip that adorns this new boot-lid. These small changes to the exterior give a positive twist to the look of the Vento.
It’s not all about the exterior; Volkswagen have tweaked the interior a wee bit too by changing the colour theme in the Highline trim to a ‘Walnut desert beige’ and ‘Cloud Titanschwarz’ in the Trendline and Comfortline trims. To beat the scorching heat this summer, the Vento now offers a cooled glove-box which will keep your drinks chilled for when you need them. Volkswagen have also introduced cruise control and a dead pedal for greater driving comfort.
