Audi has launched its S6 luxury sports sedan in India at a price of Rs 85.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
The S6 is essentially a sporty version of the A6 sedan and is powered by a 4.0 litre TFSIq V8 Bi-turbo petrol engine producing peak power of 425.8 PS from 5,500-6,400 RPM and peak torque of 550 Nm. The car accelerates from 0-100 kph in 4.6 seconds going to an electronically-limited top speed of 248 kph. The engine features the unique cylinder-on-demand (COD) technology that automatically shuts down four of the eight cylinders they are not required, thus reducing emissions and increasing fuel efficiency.
Other highlights of the car include the proprietary Quattro all-wheel drive system, 19” wheels and lower profile tyres (compared to the A6), a seven-speed S-tronic transmission, adaptive sport air suspension, quad exhausts, Audi Parking Aid Plus, four-zone air conditioning, electrically adjustable sports seats with memory function for the driver, and sun blinds. On the inside, the ‘active noise cancellation’ feature works to cancel in-cabin as well as engine noise to ensure a quiet atmosphere for the driver and passengers.
The launch of the S6 follows the launch of the RS5 (priced at Rs 95.28 lakh ex-showroom Maharashtra) earlier this month. The S6 is available at all Audi dealerships across the country immediately.
