13-Sept-CI-Tue-113-Sept-CI-Tue-2Thank you for flooding our mailbox with the new Audi A6 contest entries. While most answers were correct, there were some that were wrong and a few were plainly queer. Here are the answers to the contest questions:

Q 1) What does ‘Vorsprung DurchTechnik’ stand for?
The answer is ‘advancement through technology’, Audi’s ubiquitous signature line.

Q 2) Name three new features in the new Audi A6.
The new Audi A6 is packed with useful features and we couldn’t have asked a simpler question because there are so many to choose from. For example, the seven-speed dual clutch transmission, engine start-stop system, night vision assist, touch pad screen as in the A8 and pre-sense basic safety system that deploys airbags based on the driver’s height, among others.

Q 3) Favourite feature in the Audi A6.
We were bombarded with answers to this question and chose the one that really made the new Audi A6 special, such as the seven-speed S-tronic transmission, the spaceframe and full LED headlamps, etc.

Q 4) Last month the Audi R18 TDI won one
of the oldest and most famous car races in the world. Name the race. All right, this is very simple. Obviously, this is the Le Mans 24-hour race.

Q 5) Why is Car India different from all other auto magazines?
Now we all know the answer to this… no wonder you have this magazine in your hands right now. While others are automobile magazines, Car India is the only magazine that specifically caters to the car enthusiasts.

Two lucky contestants got an all-expense-paid VIP trip to New Delhi and were put up at a fi ve-star hotel before getting to experience the abilities of the new Audi A6. The fi rst winner of the contest was Ramnath V Iyer, an M Sc  (Automotive Product Engineering) student of the Cranfi eld University, UK. He says, “I use to read Car UK when I was in the United Kingdom and the same editorial magic prevails here in India. Lucid language, practical advices, some technical stuff and car buying options neatly packaged into 142 pages. This is how auto magazines should be.” We are fl attered, Ramnath, and thank you for your compliments!

Our second winner was Karan Dugal, a 24-year-old businessman and a self-proclaimed car fanatic based in Pune. Karan is not new to the world of Audi as he has recently bought a Q5 3.0 TDi, which he discussed at length with Audi India head, Michael Perschke.

After an interaction with the top brass of Audi India, the contestants got a chance to get behind the wheel of the much anticipated new Audi A6. Under the guidance of Audi driving instructors from South Africa and Germany, the lucky two tested the car’s manoeuvrability, other abilities and the benefi ts of the quattro system driving through a series of slalom, before fi nally testing the new A6’s braking. And coming to a sudden halt. The contestants couldn’t have enough of the car and continued to enjoy the drive despite New Delhi’s scorching heat. After a good day’s drive the winners returned to the luxury of their hotel rooms and joined the Audi team at the evening party. A day well spent, we say!
