Mahindra recently launched the BLUE SENSE APP, a smart application on the Android platform for its XUV500 (W8 model).
The BLUE SENSE APP allows XUV owners to connect with their vehicle through Bluetooth. They can now control the XUV’s infotainment system as well as monitor essential vehicle data such as the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), fuel consumption statistics, climate control, door open, service schedule, and others. This means that the Android device on which the app is installed can be used as a remote control and monitoring device from anywhere inside the vehicle.
In another industry first, Mahindra has also added a Video User Manual to the XUV500 infotainment system to explain the key features of the vehicle. Mahindra claims that this app is aimed at providing XUV owners greater accessibility, information and convenience. Existing XUV owners too can get this app installed in their vehicles by visiting an authorised XUV500 dealership. The app is also downloadable from the web link http://mahindraxuv500.com/product/mobile-downloads.htm.
Mahindra had previously launched a “Tell Tale App” for the XUV500, which has since been downloaded onto Android devices of more than 7,000 XUV500 owners. This app allowed users to keep a tab on the instrument cluster and fuel consumption of the XUV500. This app too is available at the link mentioned above.
The XUV500 is claimed to have garnered 60% of the market for high-end SUVs in India and the new app is expected to further boost this figure by adding to the popularity of this SUV among Mahindra buyers.
