British luxury car-makers appoint David Hilton as new chief
TAKING OVER FROM RAUL PIERS will be David Hilton, who will now head the exterior design department at Bentley Motors.
David Hilton, a well known name in the design world, has more than 20 years of automotive design experience. He started his designing career with
Ford back in 1991 in Detroit, Michigan, after which he moved to VW, joining the German giant’s Autolatina in Brazil. He also had a short stint at Mazda in Japan.
During his tenure as the chief designer for Ford Racing, Hilton was responsible for the 2002 Ford Focus RS. For the last 12 years Hilton has been successfully running Motorcity Europe, his own design house. He was also responsible for the 2007 Car of the Year: the Ford S Max.
