Petrol car sales register a sluggish seven per cent rise
RISING PETROL PRICES AND HIGH interest rates coupled with a rising demand for diesel cars has forced auto majors to slash prices and offer cheaper fi nance options and freebies in the form of discounts, accessories and gift hampers.
In Pune, Maruti announced a slew of incentives and freebies to woo buyers in respect of specifi c models such as the Alto, A-Star, Omni, Estilo, SX4 and the Ritz Dazzle. They were offering freebies like gift hampers and free
accessories for a specifi c cash limit apart from cheaper limited edition models. MSL claimed that a customer could save up to Rs 48,000 on any of the specifi ed models.
Volkswagen India and Honda Siel were offering 6.99 per cent. VW Financial Services was offering the Vento (petrol) at the same interest rate.
Petrol versions of the Ford Figo, Mercedes CGI and VW Polo were also being offered at competitive rates.
