The BMW X4 concept which was officially unveiled a few months ago at the Shanghai Motor Show, created quite a stir and now spy pictures have surfaced of BMW conducting road tests of their production-ready X4.
From the pictures, we can clearly make out the distinctive bodylines on the new X4 and the fact that the thinly-disguised pre-production model sports loads of chrome and bigger wheels.
As many of you are aware, the X4 is based on the X3 and will share all of its engines and mechanical components. The only difference is that it has sacrificed some of the practicality for a new fastback look. BMW are targeting this offering at younger buyers who are looking for a slick-looking BMW crossover.
BMW will be producing the X4 alongside the X3 at their Spartanburg plant. The X4 has been slated for a rumoured market launch in early 2014.
