TieÂup with FAW for the project.
TATA’s walking out of West Bengal has come as a wake up call for the state government. Ural India, a West Bengal based automobile company, in partnership with a Russian firm is developing a small car to be priced between the Nano and the Maruti 800. The government also has a stake in the company. For this venture, Ural India has tied up with China’s First Automobile Works (FAW) and is currently looking at organizing road shows for the two proposed cars to gauge customer response. The cars will be manufactured by assembling parts at the firm’s Haldia factory.
