It’s all hide on the inside and the quality and attention to detail for every single element that forms the cabin is absolutely impeccable. You will find no short-cut, stop-gap solutions in here. Everything is purely what it looks like: top-grade leather, attentive stitching, fine metal inlays, and carbon-fibre trim accents. The steering wheel is wrapped in leather but has alcantara grips above the spokes. The aluminium-finish paddles lie within easy reach. They are marked ‘up’ and ‘down’, for clientele who…, well, we’ll get to that later.
Another highlight is the Magic Sky Control roof which, you guessed it, uses electrochromic glass to control the opacity, limiting the amount of light and heat the glass-roof allows through. Touch the button and it switches from a deep shade of royal blue to almost transparent. The side windows are huge, yes, I’ve already said that, but they really are. I’ve never seen so much glass used for one single window pane, except maybe at those glass buildings. You know what they say about glass buildings. Thankfully, I can say whatever I want from inside here, because the S Coupé is built like a tank.
The rear seats can be used for plus two, but if the first two are adults who have well and truly grown to as large as they ideally should be, it will be a bit tight. Nevertheless, I did manage to fit in comfortably with another fellow, who was old enough to drive, seated ahead of me.
