The C-Class is equipped with disc brakes all around. Obviously. And it also gets such basic safety kit as ABS, ESP with curve dynamic assist along with more sophisticated gadgetry such as PRE-SAFE (optional extra), which brakes the car on its own when it senses an impending crash. This latter system is functional at speeds of up to 50 km/h. Overall, the Merc’s impressive braking power is complemented by the number of safety acronyms that the company has endowed the vehicle with.
On the whole, with its combination of a powerful engine and an able chassis that delivers high both on ride quality as well as handling parameters, the Mercedes-Benz C 200 CGI makes a very powerful case for itself. What remains to be seen is how sensibly the company prices it. That decision will decide whether the C-Class’ case becomes more powerful in the face of competition. Until then, we must wait and watch.
