After Jaigad, the Maratha pride tour continued as we arrived at the site at whose gates Shivaji Maharaj valiantly protected his territory against Afzal Khan in 1659 – Fort Pratapgad. The land of strawberry fields, Mahabaleshwar, was where we headed after Pratapgad, stopping off one last time at Harrison’s Folly, just outside the town to look upon the sun and reflect on the trip gone by. As the diffused rays of the sun played across the car, making the Santa Fe appear like it was cloaked in a layer of fire, I did think back to the all the memories this trip had left me with, and tried to imbibe it all into my consciousness. With a deep breath, I got into to the car for the last journey of this particular leg and turned towards NH 4, but before that, there was just one last thing that the Santa Fe and I just had to do – kick up some dust!
