To bring this 2,340-kg hulk to a stop, Lexus have equipped the LS 600h L with a pair of 355-mm dia ventilated discs with opposed four-piston callipers up front and 332-mm dia ventilated discs with opposed two-piston callipers at the rear. Additionally, there is the benefit of electronic controlled braking (ECB), four-sensor four-channel ABS, brake assist and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). Stomp on the brakes with gusto and what you get is a progressive feel and a strong bite. In keeping with the car’s theme of refinement and sophistication the bite isn’t a vicious action but rather an urgent yet calm reduction in pace. Overall, it is really difficult to fault the Lexus LS 600h L AWD on any parameter. Except, perhaps, the price point. As and when Lexus come into the Indian market, this product will probably make the buyer poorer by over Rs 2 crore, which is a tidy sum for even some of the wealthier lot. Therefore, ironically enough for Lexus, pricing this wonderful product correctly will probably be the biggest challenge. Should they manage to get it right, however, the rest of the players in that segment better watch out. Technical Data on page 5>
