Agra visit done, it was off to Uttar Pradesh before we could take a night’s rest. If you’re in UP, a visit to Varanasi is a must, and the most captivating sight to see there is the Ganga aarti performed at dusk. The following morning, it was time to hit the road again, and so we clambered into the comfort of our Fortuner and drove off with Kolkata in our sights. The roads, though fluctuating between two- and four-lane highways, were blissfully empty and made for easy travelling, particularly in the Jharkhand region. Soon enough, the sun began to set, and we were beset by the telltale pitter-patter of raindrops as signboards guided us into the city of joy, Kolkata.
