The world’s fastest roadster. Ever.
JUST A FEW HOURS before Car India was to go to press, we received word that Bugatti would be unveiling the world’s fastest production roadster at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse (which means ‘speed’ in the Dutch language) will be powered by the same quad-turbocharged 8.0-litre W16 engine that presently does duty in the Super Sport, but both the power and torque have been boosted to compensate for the increased weight that comes with every coupé-to-roadster transformation.
While exact fi gures are yet to be divulged, Bugatti state that this has been achieved by enlarging the four (yes, four!) turbos and intercoolers and modifying the chassis.
The price of the Grand Sport Vitesse will be announced at the Show, but, rest assured, it will not be cheap, probably costing somewhere between $2-3 million.
