Launches Galore
THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS SAW A DECLINE IN THE SALES of new cars due to a sluggish economy, rise in the cost of fuel, and the agrarian crisis. However, after a brief lull in automotive launches, now they seem to have started with a vengeance: four new cars in less than a week. Starting with the Toyota Camry, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R and Tata Harrier have been launched on the same day and this was followed by the launch of the Mercedes-Benz V-Class. BMW also launched the all-new X4.
Finally, the Pune traffic police seem to be taking action against driving/riding on the wrong side. In one single day they registered more than 400 such offences at only four locations in the city. If they really crack down on this rampant malaise, I think they can record more than 4,000 cases in one single day and this will also mean an important step towards making our roads safer. Today if you are looking for an opening in the flow of traffic, you come across some idiot coming from a no-entry and hitting you. To make matters worse, he will start arguing with you: ‘Can’t you see?’
