Audi have confirmed that they will be introducing an e-tron version of the Q7 SUV come 2015.
In a statement issued by Audi Australia MD, Andrew Doyle, the company will be launching the Q7 e-tron after the A3 e-tron as the next generation models of Audi’s for the future. However, Mr. Doyle also added that there has been no confirmation for the head honchos if an e-tron version of Audi’s flagship supercar the R8 is on cards.
While the A3 e-tron was unveiled with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 75 kW electric motor combo with a combined output of 204 PS, there is speculation that the Q7 e-tron might receive a much more powerful drivetrain. We do expect the 2015 Q7 e-tron to be on similar lines as Audi’s A1 e-tron concept. Stay tuned for more information on the next generation of Audis.
