In an effort to reassure customers, VW India recently revealed some more information regarding the latest emission issues

In a recently released statement from Volkswagen India, the company has said that VW representatives have met officials from the Government of India – Ministry of heavy Industries and ARAI to update them on the evaluations of the ongoing emission issues related to VW Group’s diesel engines in regards to the Indian market.

Due to a wide variety of factors involving a combination of various engine models, brands, gearboxes and model years, the evaluations are more time. However, the company has assured the authorities and its customers that the results will be published by the end of November 2015. Until then the company representatives will be in constant touch with the government authorities keeping them updated on the progress of the evaluations. What VW India does next entirely depends on the findings of the evaluations.

In the same statement, Volkswagen India also said that VW cars in the hands of current customers are technically safe and road worthy.
