The company targets 10 million units by the first half of 2021

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) have worked hard to build the Korean brand’s reputation in the Indian market, and 18 years after the first Santro rolled off the production lines in 1998 the company have announced their seven millionth car — a top-of-the-line white Creta AT. The company crossed the one million milestone eight years after commencement of Indian operations after which production picked up momentum; the five million mark came up five years later.

HMI held a celebratory event to congratulate their employees for the achievement, where Y K Koo, MD and CEO said, “HMIL has always set new benchmarks in terms of quality and customer delight by introducing new products with new technology and design to the Indian market, demonstrating superior manufacturing prowess.  Our ‘Made in India’ products have impressed global and Indian customers alike.”
