The Tour variant is aimed squarely at taxi fleet owners.
Although Maruti Suzuki are on the verge of launching the third iteration of the Swift DZire notchback, taxi fleet owners have so far been able to buy the first generation car for commercial use. Named the DZire Tour, the car was available only in the base LXi and LDi variants, with black bumpers and door mirrors to keep costs down, while taking advantage of the larger boot space of the first-generation car. With the imminent launch of the third-generation DZire, Maruti Suzuki will be discontinuing the original Tour completely, and the current second-generation model will take its place.
The new Swift DZire Tour will get black-wing mirrors, pressed steel wheels, a black plastic grille up front, air-conditioning and power steering, while the chrome trim up front and fog lamps have been left out to keep costs low. The petrol version is powered by the 1.2-litre four-cylinder motor and is priced at Rs 5.24 lakh, while the 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel version is priced at Rs 5.99 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
