When Shall We Catch Up With Them?
EVERY TIME YOU DRIVE A NEW CAR FROM ONE OF THE PREMIUM manufacturers it feels that now it is going to be impossible to make a car to better the one that has just been launched, but you will be surprised that every time one of the premium manufacturers launches a new car, the previous model feels and looks totally dated compared to the new car. The new 7 Series I drove in the US sets new standards in many areas like construction, gesture control and much more.
The same cannot be said about Indian manufacturers as most of the time they struggle to match what is already on sale. It is sad but you have to face the truth that the local manufacturers struggle to match their overseas counterparts in all the departments.
The Frankfurt Motor Show was much bigger compared to the previous iteration two years ago. The European new car market is showing a healthy growth and that refl ected on the motor show. Almost all manufacturers had a plug-in hybrid or a full electric car on display. Some of the concept cars were really stunning.
This month we have quite a few fi rst drives and road tests. We have the fi rst drive of the all-new 7 Series at the top end and the Renault Kwid at the entry level.
