It would seem that Honda doesn’t put much stock into the age old adage ‘Sky is the limit’.
In a related development, the Honda Aircraft Company announced that the first production HondaJet has achieved its first flight. The HondaJet took to the skies at the company’s world headquarters at Greensboro, North Carolina.
The first production aircraft lifted off from Piedmont Triad International Airport and flew for a time of 84 minutes. It flew at an altitude of 15,500 feet. While not the highest, it’s still up there. A top speed of 348 Knots True Air Speed was attained by the HondaJet. Post a smooth landing, the aircraft and crew were greeted by a huge crowd, made up of a thousand Honda Aircraft team members, who were present to commemorate the occasion.
And you thought you were ‘flying’ down the road when going flat out in your Accord, or astride your CBR1000RR Fireblade.
