The festive season is almost upon us and Honda India have decided to start with special edition variants of three models in their range. But just how special is special?
The Japanese auto manufacturing giants have added a few features – and some suffixes – to three of their existing models called the WR-V – Alive Edition, BR-V – Style Edition, and City – Edge Edition. The company says that these are special edition models, however, it may seem that Honda may be trying to play catch-up, feature-wise, with some of their competition.
The special edition City and WR-V, based on the existing ‘SV’ and ‘S’ grades respectively, get rear parking sensors and a camera; something which has been available with its rivals, and was a much needed feature upgrade, as well as diamond-cut alloy wheels: 16-inchers on the WR-V and 15s on the City.
The WR-V – Alive Edition will come with Honda Connect, an app that allows you to access information and offers more security for your car, free for the first month. The car also gets a new exterior paint colour called Radiant Red Metallic which is now available for all grades of the WR-V.
The BR-V, on the other hand, gets a bunch of other features, mainly exterior add-ons: a front guard, a tailgate spoiler, body side-moulding and front and rear bumper protectors to be precise.
All three will feature a plush interior with their respective special edition logos.
The ex-showroom pricing for these cars are as follows:
WR-V i-VTEC Petrol S MT Alive: Rs 8.02 lakh
WR-V i-DTEC Diesel S MT Alive: Rs 9.11 lakh
City i-VTEC Petrol SV MT Edge: Rs 9.75 lakh
City i-DTEC Diesel SV MT Edge: Rs 11.10 lakh
Finally, the BR-V comes in a range of variants. The petrols are priced between Rs 10.44 lakh for the S MT Style and Rs 12.77 lakh for the top-end V CVT Style, while the diesels are priced between Rs 11.79 lakh and Rs 13.74 lakh.
