The German component and technology giant commemorates the graduation of over 1,000 underprivileged youth
In order to do their bit for the social upliftment of the masses, Bosch recently held an event where they commemorated more than 1,000 underprivileged youth who graduated from Bosch’s short-term vocational program. Bosch’s unique Bridge program, which has trained around 2,500 school and college dropouts via its 65 centres across the country was responsible for this achievement. In fact, the Bridge programme is so effective that it has a 100 percent placement record in organised and semi-organised sectors. The ceremony was held at Bosch’s Vocational Centre in Bangalore where the graduating students were felicitated with a certificate and new students were awarded with free learning kits.
Honoring the event with their presence was Mr. P. B. Ramamurthy, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Karnataka, Mr. Soumitra Bhattacharya, joint managing director, Bosch Limited and Mr. Suresh B R, National Head of Bosch India Human Resources. Mr. P. B. Ramamurthy issued certificates to the graduating students from various centers in Karnataka, while new students were handed out free learning kits.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Soumitra Bhattacharya, joint managing director of Bosch Limited, said, “There is a huge demand for skilling in India, and to bridge that demand, Bosch has put together some specially designed programs – both short- and long-term – to help students get specialized training in trade and industry skills.”
