We returned to Dhordo tent city and immersed ourselves in some cultural activity. The sights and sounds were spectacular and the various shows by performers were very pleasing. We also visited the adjoining market area where artisans and craftsmen from the neighbouring villages had set up shop and were selling beautiful and intricately decorated apparel.
These two days spent with the Honda Amaze in a mesmerising place were truly fun. I never get tired of going to the Rann and this time was extra special since I was driving the Amaze. The ‘Rann Utsav’ was also brilliant as it gave me a fresh new perspective on this arid region, which for most of the year is a lifeless piece of land, but come December and it transforms into a rocking cultural party venue where people from all walks of life descend to celebrate the grandeur of the Great Rann.
