Škoda will present the Yeti Xtreme, a sporty and solid concept rally car based on the SUV at this year’s GTI event at Wörthersee from the 28 to 31 May, 2014.
Converting the SUV into a sporty and dynamic rally design, the Škoda designers have also combined the power of an all-wheel drive SUV with design elements and beefed-up equipment of a rally car. Power comes from a 150-PS 1.8-litre TSI four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission driving all four wheels via a Haldex coupling. Maximum torque of 250 Nm is achieved between 1,500 and 4,200 RPM allowing the Xtreme to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 9 seconds, with a top speed of 192 km/h.
Furthermore, the Yeti Xtreme also features Octavia RS brakes, 17-inch wheels wrapped in purposeful off-road tyres, an upgraded front-end with a tougher bumper and larger air intake and signature LED headlamps. Keeping its off-road credentials in mind, the height of the chassis can also be adjusted.
