Maruti Suzuki are recalling two of their popular models over brake vacuum hose issue that might affect braking performance.
Maruti Suzuki will start recalling 52,686 units of the Swift and Baleno, which were produced from 1 December 2017 to 16 March 2018, from 14 May. Maruti Suzuki have issued the recall after finding out that units produced in these three months were fitted with faulty brake vacuum hose that affects the braking performance by not producing enough brake pressure. The brakes will remain functional, however, the faulty vacuum hose will affect the braking performance.
To correct this, Maruti will be issuing recall notices to the owners of the affected cars who can take their Baleno or Swift to a Maruti dealership and get the part replaced at no cost. You can also log on here to check whether your car is listed or not for the recall.
