King will return to Germany to take charge of a new international assignment at Audi AG
Joe King has been leading Audi India since 2013, and during his tenure sales rose from 10,002 units in 2013 to 10,201 in 2014 and finally 11,192 units in 2015. He oversaw the launches of the new A4, the armoured A8 L Security and the venerable R8 V10 Plus, and paved the way for cars like the RS 7 Performance, SQ7 luxury SUV and the new TT RS compact sportscar.
The new head of Audi India, Thierry Lespiaucq, has been with VW since 2004, and was the Managing Director of Volkswagen Group Sales India since May 2014. He has been part of the automotive industry for over 37 years, having previously headed Toyota France, and been the CEO of Renault-Nissan Suisse.
