Audi India have accomplished a hat-trick of sales figure milestones – monthly, quarterly and annual.

Audi have been on the up of late and their sales have shown no sign of going down anytime soon. The constant introduction of new model lines and trim levels, buoyed by the A4, A6, Q3 and Q7, have kept the momentum going for the German giant in all the major segments which make up the Indian luxury car market. Their supercar line-up, including the recently-introduced RS7 Sportback, add even more to the brand appeal.

Audi have achieved the highest monthly sales with 1,404 units in March 2014. This goes a great distance in the next milestone – 2,740 cars in the quarter of January to March 2014. Audi also concluded the financial year with a first-ever 10,000+ luxury car sales record, with 10,126 cars finding new homes in 2013-14.

Audi India also plan to up their dealer count to 40 by the end of the year. New dealerships have already been inaugurated in Nashik, Udaipur and Vishakhapatnam. Not only are the major cities covered, Audi also have an all-important accessibility factor when it comes to aftersales, a point hard to ignore when considering buying a car of such value.

The company expects even stronger sales figures with the launch of the new A3 sedan later this year. The four-door entry-luxury saloon car will further the momentum they have gained, being offered with a frugal 2.0-litre diesel motor. Whether the A3 will have just an automatic transmission or will also feature a 6-speed manual, like the Q3 S, remains to be seen. The A3 Cabriolet will also be among the most affordable convertibles on sale in the country. A 180-PS 1.8 TFSi is slated for launch, but we shall find out all the details once the company formally introduces the models in the market.
